Organizing/Pastor position
The Congregation for Reconciliation is a Just Peace and Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. It was founded with a highly democratic design, fully recognizes members of both conscience and faith and has a prophetic mission to do social action. Presently, we are seeking an organizer, who may or may not be ordained, to assist us to carry out our mission.
The organizer will be an active member of the congregation in addition to his or her work and leadership responsibilities. (Please see the Job Description.) Planned funding is secure for three years. The position will be paid full-time salary with health insurance and benefits.
We need a talented, outgoing, innovative and hard working person to renew and rebuild the Congregation for Reconciliation:
· To organize and assist the congregation to do informed social action
· To recruit new members and participants who have a social justice commitment to build the work of the congregation
· To value and promote a life together that supports this community in its social justice work and to assist its members with study, liturgy and celebration.
· To assist in strategic and financial planning to reach the goals of the Congregation.
